OWENS COMMUNITY COLLEGE

about this project

Owens Community College, a Toledo institution established in 1965, selected our team in 2013 to help create a new culinary center. This new center’s equipment needed to cater to the multiple academic programs offered in the Culinary Arts Center—and it had to be done in less than four months. In that time, Burkett worked with the general contractor’s team to transform the old 3,700 sq. ft. space. By the time it was completed, the new center was over three times the previous size at 14,000 sq. ft., an expansive and sleek facility able to better accommodate the variety of programs.

Along with being a state institution, we were required to submit requests for proposals. Burkett was able to put together a proposal with all of the information we require. It was well-organized, and we were able to compare Burkett pricing and equipment to exactly what was spec’d out. They made it very, very easy for us.
